CenterLine Hosts Tour to over 170 Grade 8 Students
CenterLine Hosts Tour to over 170 Grade 8 Students
Posted May 28, 2015
On Tuesday May 26th, CenterLine (Windsor) Limited was the host to over 170 students from local elementary schools registered to attend General Amherst Secondary School, and Sandwich Secondary School in the fall. The "Trades on Tour" event offered students the opportunity to tour our facilities and participate in a question and answer period at the end of each session.

With over 15 CenterLine employees helping to welcome the students, the tours offered a look into the skilled trades environment, and hopefully encouraged some students to make this their future.

We enjoyed having the students for the morning, and encourage them to embark on a fulfilling and lucrative career in the skilled trades.

CenterLine Hosts AWS Technical Event- Award's Night 2015
Posted May 21, 2015
On May 14th, CenterLine hosted the American Welding Society- Detroit Section Technical Meeting and  Awards Night. This was the first time on record that a Detroit Section event was hosted in Canada, and we were proud to be the facility they chose for this event. Individuals were acknowledged for distinguishing themselves in the local welding industry, and for going above and beyond in their service to the AWS Detroit Section.

CenterLine’s Larry Koscielski, Senior Strategic Technical Advisor and Dan Cabanaw, Senior Account Manager, covered the technical content for the evening with a presentation focused on the complexity of modern fastener welding. The event welcomed over 50 guests and included a tour of our facilities, a catered meal, and participation by several CenterLine staff members.

We thank the AWS and the Canadian Welding Association for visiting our facility and allowing CenterLine to host this event.

CenterLine partnered with the Occupational Safety Group (OSG) to train 46 employees (including group leaders and managers from all 3 divisions) to be certified in Joint Health and Safety. OSG (along with CenterLine) believed that the Joint Health and Safety Committee would be more effective if all members went through the JHSC Certification Training Program (opposed to only 2 mandatory per committee). CenterLine took advantage of a grant called the Canada-Ontario Jobs Grant that covered 2/3 of the cost, allowing us to extend the training to our entire committee. There are now 61 employees certified in JHSC at CenterLine Windsor Limited.

CenterLine values this education, and is proud to maintain our safe facilities at all times.
